Charles University in Prague (also simply Charles University; (チェコ語:Univerzita Karlova v Praze); (ラテン語:Universitas Carolina Pragensis); (ドイツ語:Karls-Universität Prag)) is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1348, it was the first university in Central Europe, east of France and north of Italy.〔Joachim W.
